One Wall Street

One Wall Street

Financial District | New Development Condominium

Building

One Wall Street is a landmark 48-story luxury condominium located at the intersection of Wall Street and Broadway in Manhattan’s Financial District. Originally completed in 1931, the Art Deco skyscraper has been reimagined as one of the most ambitious residential conversions in New York City.

Developed by Macklowe Properties, the building now offers 566 condominium residences ranging from studios to expansive multi-bedroom homes, many with panoramic views of New York Harbor, the Statue of Liberty, and the Lower Manhattan skyline. The residences combine historic architectural character with modern design and high-end finishes.

The project also incorporates significant retail space at the base of the building and a massive amenity program designed to rival the lifestyle offerings of modern luxury towers.

History

One Wall Street was designed by renowned architect Ralph Walker, one of the leading figures of the Art Deco movement in New York. The building originally served as the headquarters of the Irving Trust Company and quickly became one of the most recognizable financial buildings in Lower Manhattan.

The tower’s limestone façade and sculptural setbacks reflect the architectural optimism of the early 20th century and helped shape the Art Deco skyline of Downtown Manhattan.

Inside the building is the famed “Red Room,” a dramatic banking hall completed in 1931 and decorated with red and gold mosaic tiles designed by artist Hildreth Meière. The room originally served the bank’s most prestigious clients and remains one of the most extraordinary Art Deco interiors in New York City.

In the 2020s, the building underwent a large-scale transformation into residential condominiums—one of the largest office-to-residential conversions in New York City history.

Amenities

One Wall Street offers more than 100,000 square feet of resident amenities, creating a full-service lifestyle within the building.

Highlights include:

  • 75-foot glass-enclosed swimming pool with skyline views

  • Private fitness and wellness facilities operated by Life Time

  • Resident lounges and private dining spaces

  • Coworking spaces and library

  • Golf simulator and entertainment rooms

  • Children’s playroom and pet spa

  • Landscaped terraces and outdoor lounge areas

  • On-site retail including a Whole Foods Market

These amenities are largely located on the upper floors of the building, providing expansive views across Lower Manhattan and New York Harbor.

Location

Situated at 1 Wall Street, the building occupies a full city block at the historic intersection of Wall Street and Broadway, just steps from the New York Stock Exchange and Trinity Church.

Residents benefit from proximity to many of Lower Manhattan’s key attractions and lifestyle destinations, including:

  • Battery Park waterfront and harbor promenades

  • Brookfield Place and the Oculus shopping center

  • World Trade Center and the 9/11 Memorial

  • Historic restaurants and bars throughout the Financial District

The neighborhood has evolved significantly over the past two decades, transforming from a primarily financial hub into a thriving residential district with restaurants, retail, and waterfront access.
